The hot-surface ignitor is the furnace equivalent of the AC capacitor: it wears out, it’s inexpensive, and it’s the most common no-heat call we run. A dirty flame sensor makes the furnace light and shut down seconds later; a stuck pressure switch or a blocked inducer keeps it from lighting at all. All quick fixes with the right part on the truck.
On gas furnaces past 15 years we inspect the heat exchanger every visit. A crack means the furnace is done — full stop — because it can leak combustion gases into the airstream. If we find one we’ll show you, red-tag it, and quote a replacement. Nobody enjoys that conversation, but it’s the one that matters.
A furnace that lights but blows weakly or not at all is usually a blower motor or capacitor; one that lights, runs, and then flashes an error code is often the board. We read the code, test the component and quote it — we don’t replace boards on a guess.

Y'all, On Point Service Company saved the day again! My A/C has been out. It just wasn't cooling. I emailed Tara yesterday afternoon and she sent a technician out this morning!
